After the magistral studies, he attended Theology in the School for Priest in Bergamo and he was ordained as a priest on the 21st December 1968.
From 1969 to 1974 he was vicar of the Parish in Credano, the in Curnasco and from 1974 to 1982 he was priest in Piazzatorre and Piazzolo. From 1974 and 1978 he was also Secretary of the Diocesan Centre in charge of Leisure Time.
Meanwhile he graduated in Theology in the Pontificia Universita’ Lateranense, he achieved master in Tourism at the University “Bocconi” in Milan, the Degree in” Letters and Pedagogy “ in the Catholic University in Milan and the Doctor’s Degree in Theology.
Then he was called to Rome: from 1982 to 1985 he worked in the Catholic Bureau of Italian Tourism (UCIT) and from 1985 to 1987 he worked in the General Secretary of CEI. In 1988 he became Director of the National Bureau for Leisure Time and Sport. From 1990 HE IS/ HE WAS Chapelai of His Holiness.
From 1994 to 2001, he taught “Theology and Spirituality of Pilgrimage” in the
Pontificia Universita’ Lateranense: He was secretary of the National Comitee for “the Great Jubilee of 2000”; from 2002 he HAS BEEN TEACHING “ History of religious tourism and Cultural Goods” at the Faculty of Sociology at the University Bicocca in Milan.
He was Chaplain of the Italian Team at the Last Olimpic Games and at Mediterranean Games.
He was appointed Bishop of Fidenza by Pope Benedetto XVI on the 1st October 2007, and was ordained on the 1st December in the Cathedral of Fidenza by Cardinal Carlo Caffarra ( Archibishop of Bologna) at the presence of the Bishops: Roberto Amadei ( Bishop of Bergamo), Giuseppe Betori (General Secretary of CEI), Josef Clemens ( Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Laymen), Giampaolo Crepaldi ( Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Peace and Justice), Cesare Bonicelli ( Bishop of Parma), Lino Pizzi ( Bishop of Forli’-Bertinoro), Arturo Aiello (Bishop of Teano-Calvi).
He entered the Diocesi on the 2nd of December 2007
